Ice Arrow is Missing
Part 18

This part of IAIM is basically just a meme. Given the inside joke between my friends and I of "Open your eyes", I remembered that it's actually in one of the opening lyrics to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. So for this installment all seven of the clues are purely lyrics from the song. Each clue has highlighted words which are the "real" clues that lead the player to the correct location.

Lone Peak Shrine

Hidden in the Lone Peak Shrine there are four torches hidden high up above the Lens of Truth chest. The torches are only present on the 2nd and Final Days. Lighting these torches spawns the Ice Arrow chest inside of the large rock on the right side.

Clue 1: Clock Town

Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see.

Hidden in South Clock Town up near the Red Rupee chest.

Clue Reference

Once they player is in the Lone Peak Shrine they need to "look up".

Clue 2: Southern Swamp

Didn't mean to make you cry.

Hidden behind the Magic Hags' Potion Shop.

Clue Reference

The Goron Elder's Grandson who cries until put to sleep by the player.

Clue 3: Path to Snowhead

If I'm not back again this time tomorrow, carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters.

Hidden in the second gap. The sign is placed on an invisible ice platform below.

Clue Reference

The time for the torches that need to be light to spawn the Ice Arrow chest. They are not present on the 1st Day.

Since I wanted to keep the clues true to the lyrics this time frame is vague and not specific. Because of this I chose to make the torches available on both the 2nd and 3rd days. If the player finds the clue on the 1st Day then "tomorrow" refers to the 2nd Day. Likewise if they find it on the 2nd Day then it refers to the Final Day.

I also considered adding a mod where upon reading this sign checking what day/time it is and then making the torches only available the next day. This means if the player didn't read the sign until the Final Day they wouldn't be able to actually get the Ice Arrow in the current cycle. I ultimately thought this wasn't a great idea and it would also make this clue required to actually get the Ice Arrow. Historically no clues have ever been required to complete any parts and I wanted to keep it this way.

Clue 4: Goron Racetrack

Sends shivers down my spine, body's aching all the time.

Hidden near the loop end of the track where it starts to go back towards the start. The sign is along the wall near one of the trees.

Clue Reference

The Lone Peak Shrine is located in the Goron Village which is usually a winter area map until Snowhead Temple is beaten.

Clue 5: Great Bay Coast

Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth.

Hidden underwater near the Marine Research Lab behind one of the pieces of debris.

Clue Reference

The torches are placed directly above the chest which holds the Lens of Truth. So the player needs to face towards it to see the torches.

Clue 6: Path to Ikana Canyon

Thunderbolts and lightning, very, very frightening me.

Hidden up on the pillar with the Red Rupee chest.

Clue Reference

Clue 7: Ikana Canyon

So you think you can stop me and spit in my eye.

Hidden inside the Music Box House on the right.

Clue Reference

"Atop eye." The torches are above the Lens of Truth chest.
