Ok for real this time... The Grand Finale! There will be no more IAIM after this one I swear.
So this one has been something I had thought about for quite awhile actually. Even before coming back after another break between IAIM23 and 24. I knew once again it needed to be special and I wanted to set up another web page as part of the solution for it. Though technically use of the web page is not necessarily required it however does make the answer very obvious to the player, or at least should hopefully.
The web page is not simply given at the beginning like in past IAIMs. Instead the player must find the URL hidden within the clues! The web page is pretty simple in itself. It asks if you found all the clues and selecting "No" will tell you that you cannot finish without them all. It then asks whether you completed IAIM24, IAIM29, and IAIM32. Selecting "Yes" will refresh your memory about a specific aspect of each one. Selecting "No" will skip for that specific one to avoid spoilers for the player assuming they actually didn't play that one yet and answered honestly. Each one of these past IAIMs has an extra clue in them that helps with getting to it's solution, however hidden within them were more acrostics that create messages. These were intended to help prepare the player for the future, assuming they played them before this one, however are not required to actually complete this one. These are shown to the player.
Part 24
Embark on the right,
You shall not pass.
Eclipsed on the left,
Something is masked.
Order not so important,
Purpose can be is fulfilling.
Embrace all that has passed,
Never has this been so thrilling!
Part 29
We want the tears falling,
Have you a way up to heaven?
Been below all this time,
Watching for the musical session.
Part 32
You may do as foretold,
Should've taken first place.
Paid the price in gold,
Attention those who wish to race!
At the end the player is told they were already given the answer and that maybe they should go back and look at the clock town information sign again. Because you see, hidden within the message of the clock town sign is another acrostic that is the actual solution.
After having finished reading this
you shall be on your way. You will
have to find them all.
All you need will be given to you.
The trick is in deciphering what the
clues could possibly mean...
You don't have that much time. You
must act fast or are you going to
let the time slip away?
The problem may seem to be that
moon up in the sky, but try not to
fall too far behind.
Then again, who knows, you could
seek for the hidden truths from
what we did in IAIMs past.
Can't you open your eyes? Will they
be closed? Keep them in order as
seen here for it's hidden within.
Yes... in order to complete this IAIM the player must let time expire and watch the moon crash into Termina... However simply letting the moon crash is not enough. In the clock town information sign as well as on the web page it specifically says the player needs to find all the clues. Each clue sign as well as the clock town information sign are modified to set a flag. When the moon crash happens these flags are checked. If, and only if, all of them are true will the player get the correct result which is the "Test Map".
Funny enough one of my friends, RhoneRanger ended up mentioning that "You should make an IAIM where you have to let the moon crash." Little did he know this was already the plan and what I was doing. I'm sure if and when he plays this part and assuming he figures it out he'll be pointing at his T.V. and shouting "I KNEW IT!".
On the Test Map there are a few invisible switches that the player must activate to spawn ladders. The ladders will ascend to the highest tower on the map where the Ice Arrow is waiting for them. This is also sort of an easter egg as an extra sign located here says "What a thrill...". This is of course referring to the the really long ladder climbing sequence from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, a special shoutout to my good friend Cerberusguns. I also recreated this myself in Breath of the Wild when I came across a shrine with a fairly tall ladder I knew I could loop a section of to make it look I was climbing forever. You can see it below.
